Right Worshipful Master, Bro John S McMillan.

Welcome to our Website, feel free to browse our various topics and columns, but please allow me to show you what we feel, is the essence of being a Member of Lodge St John No 192 Muthill: read the following entry in the Committee book, submitted 29th December 1828; which reads,

""The Sense of the house being taken by a show of hands, They unanimously came to the following resolution that the Procession of the next General Meeting of 1829, Do proceed to walk throughout the Town in due order by torchlight precisely at 8 o-clock Evening, and after that hour No books shall be opened, Nor any business whatsoever shall be done that night, in order that the Brethren may have that social enjoyment, one with another throughout the remainder of the night. """

and """" It was unanimously agreed to by the Brethren of this Lodge, That out of consideration of the late misfortune that our Brother Thomas Watt has fallen into, The General Meeting of this 29th Dec 1828, Do order the Treasurers Mess'rs Mathew Graham & Nish to pay him the sum of Two Pounds Sterling, but by no means to make the above a precident for any like circumstances that may occur he having no legal claim thereto, but given to him out of Sympathy and Goodwill. """

Two extracts encapsulating all the genuine tenets of Freemasonry.

Friday 27th, March 2009, Crieff Bowling Club, Doors Open   6-30, Eyes down 7-30, So was the Lodges Bingo Tea advertised around Crieff, Muthill, and Comrie, and what another great achievment on behalf of the lodge stalwarts this turned out to be, we were all there, myself, young John, Peter, Rab, Alan, and Ally. Our good friend and Bingo caller for the evening P.M. Bro Charlie Roy 269, excelled himself, and the lodge must thank him and his good lady Kate for their input and expertise in guiding us, for bringing the evening to a successful and lucrative conclusion. Good prizes, good food, splendid raffle, and good all round entertainment, was enjoyed by the packed house on the night. Special thanks to the Committee of Crieff Bowling Club for the use and facilities of their premises, and we look forward to another successful night to be held there circa September.

Brethren, Saturday Evening the 14th March, heralded the Annual Belated Burns Supper in the Lodgerooms and what a great night was had by all, another full house, were treated to the best of traditional Scottish fayre, with supporting acts and music attaining a standard of excellence, unparalled at Muthill, the Lodge thanks everyone who contributed in whatever way in making the night the resounding Success that it was. Thanks. [ photos on Burns Night 2009 page ]

The 2008 summer recess is now over, and congratulations must go to the Bowlers of Lodge St Micheal No 38, on winning the Triple Bowling Trophy, a great day was had by bowlers and spectators alike.

The Kipling Night, was an outstanding success, and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone who attended. The event raised £450, for Muthill Primary Schools African Bus appeal, and many cards of Thanks have been received by the Lodge, [ even one from the House of Commons ]. My thanks must go to Tommy and Dave for the excellent Curry Dinner, everyone who helped on the night, and a special thanks to I.P.M. Bro John G McMillan, [ and his long suffering spouse, Belle ] for making the night the success that it was.

Saturday 5th July saw the Crabbie Cup being won by our good friends St Micheal No 38, at Crieff Bowling Club, and although this is a Perthshire West Competition, another excellent day was had by everyone present.

Crieff Bowling Club was once again the venue for the Jimmy Brown Memorial Trophy, which is open to all Masons, and our I.P.M. Bro John G McMillan, played in the grand final, and was unfortunate to lose by one bowl, but once again a most enjoyable afternoon.
